The following message was highlighted on a NASSP approved website for two years following Hurricane Katrina. The NASSP, National Honor Society and the National Association of Student Council continue to promote our student volunteer disaster relief programs throughout the United States.

***Plan a Trip to Help with Katrina Relief Efforts***
Student leaders have rallied to the aid of Hurricane Katrina victims by sponsoring a variety of collections and fundraising activities. Honor Society leaders who want to do even more can now organize trips to the hurricane stricken areas of the Gulf Coast to physically aid in the ongoing efforts. NHS and NJHS recommend that Honor Societies and schools wishing to send groups into the Gulf on service trips consider doing so through the National Relief Network.


**The National Relief Network has been approved for listing and appears on the 2009-2010 NASSP National Advisory List of Student Contests and Activities.**
